Michael Cohen, former lawyer to Donald Trump and key witness in a Manhattan hush money case, plans to run for Congress in 2026, aiming to challenge U.S. Rep. Jerry Nadler in New York’s 12th Congressional District.
Cohen, who faced legal troubles and prison time, expressed his intention to enter politics after a mental breakdown following his involvement with Trump.
“What a great country America is,” Cohen said. “Anyone can run for Congress — even con men.”
He highlighted his shift against Trump, citing unmet expectations for a job or pardon.
Despite criticism of his testimony and past actions, Cohen is set to announce his campaign post the upcoming elections, targeting one of Congress’s longest-serving members.
