72-year-old country music star George Strait set a new record for largest single-show attendance at a ticketed concert in the US.
His concert Saturday night at Kyle Field at Texas A&M University drew 110,905 fans, breaking the previous record of 107,019 set by the Grateful Dead in 1977.
The number also broke the overall stadium attendance record at Kyle Field, surpassing the previous mark of 110,633 from an 2014 Texas A&M football game.
The concert drew attention to Strait’s continued popularity and drawing power, even at age 72 after a lengthy career.
