The Trump campaign criticized CNN for ending an interview with Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt after she brought up Jake Tapper’s history of anti-Trump criticism.
Leavitt’s microphone was cut off, leading her to remark on Trump not receiving fair treatment in the upcoming debate. Hunt defended the decision, citing respect for colleagues and Tapper’s past comments.
“CNN cutting off my microphone for bringing up a debate moderator’s history of anti-Trump lies just proves our point that President Trump will not be treated fairly in Thursday’s debate,” Leavitt said.

“Yet President Trump is still willing to go into this 3-1 fight to bring his winning message to the American people, and he will win,” she added.
Afterward, Hunt posted on X that she interrupted Leavitt because she reportedly did not show proper respect to CNN’s Tapper.
“You come on my show, you respect my colleagues. Period,” Hunt said. “I don’t care what side of the aisle you stand on, as my track record clearly shows.”
