White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre faced questions about President Joe Biden’s cognitive health after his debate performance, where he appeared tired and struggled to articulate clearly.
When asked if the president was disabled, Jean-Pierre responded that he was not and attributed his performance to having a “bad night.”
“And we are acknowledging what people are seeing. But we do believe this was a, in this instance, it was a bad night,” Jean-Pierre said.
“Is he disabled? Is the president disabled?” the reporter asked.
“No, and let me finish with your colleague, please,” Jean-Pierre said. “I know, but shouting out, come on. You know better. You know better. Come on.”
Concerns about Biden’s mental capacity have been raised previously, with polls indicating doubts about his ability to serve a second term due to his age and cognitive capabilities.
