President Biden’s son Hunter, facing legal issues, has been attending White House meetings following his father’s disappointing debate performance.
Despite calls for the President to step down, Biden’s family, including First Lady Jill Biden, supports him staying in the race to improve his standing.
“Hunter doesn’t trust” the President’s aides, one inside source said. “I think Hunter wants to be there, and POTUS isn’t going to say no.”
Hunter Biden’s close involvement in his father’s decision to continue running for office has led to an increased role in White House affairs, raising eyebrows among staff members.
Hunter has been participating in advising his father and assisting in preparation for speeches, with plans to celebrate the July 4 holiday at the White House with his family.
“Hunter came back with the President from their family weekend at Camp David and went with the President straight into speech prep,” White House spokesman Andrew Bates said.
