The FBI has conducted a search of Thomas Crooks’ cell phone and internet devices to gather a better picture of his motive in the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump.
On President Biden’s Inauguration Day in 2021, Crooks contributed a $15 donation to the liberal ActBlue political action committee.
During his searches online, he looked up the times and dates of the Republican national conventions as well as photos of Trump.

Before the assassination attempted, the FBI originally reported that Crooks posted a message to the gaming platform Steam that read: “July 13 will be my premiere, watch as it unfolds.” It was later revealed that the FBI believes this account is fake.
The Trump rally shooter also searched “major depressive disorder” before he nearly killed Trump.
“Crooks appears to be on good terms with his parents, who are both counselors, but they weren’t part of his daily life,” Fox News reported.
The FBI has conducted 200 interviews and combed through 14,000 images on Crooks’ phone.
However, despite the research, the FBI claims there “is still no definitive motive for the attempted assassination in Butler, Pennsylvania.”
Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., said the FBI’s statement is “bull****.”
“I’m not buying that they have nothing,” Burchett said. “I don’t have faith in this administration. If they (the Secret Service) don’t want conspiracy theories, they have to move quickly and answer tough questions.”
“Americans demand and deserve answers from Director Cheatle about the attempted assassination of President Trump and the Secret Service’s egregious failures,” the Oversight Committee said.
