Former President Donald Trump has expressed strong confidence in his chances for the upcoming election, announcing a prominent transition team to prepare for his potential second term.
The team, operating as a 501(c)4 political nonprofit, will be led by Linda McMahon and Howard Lutnick, with support from Senator J.D. Vance and Trump’s sons, Donald Jr. and Eric.
Trump emphasized a forward-looking agenda focused on safety, prosperity, and restoring competence to the Oval Office.
“The 2024 GOP Platform to Make America Great Again is a forward-looking agenda that will deliver safety, prosperity and freedom for the American people. My administration will deliver on these bold promises,” Trump said. “We will restore strength, competence, and common sense to the Oval Office. I have absolute confidence the Trump-Vance Administration will be ready to govern effectively on Day One.”
Critics have suggested that Trump is also linked to Project 2025, a conservative initiative by the Heritage Foundation, although he has distanced himself from it.
Throughout his campaign, Trump has focused on populist policies that resonate with voters, maintaining a slight lead in polls over Vice President Kamala Harris.
His proposals, such as eliminating federal taxes on tipped wages, reflect a broader appeal of his America First agenda, which includes securing borders and prioritizing American jobs.
