CBS debate moderator Margaret Brennan has come under heavy scrutiny due to her husband, Yado Yakub, serving as a strategic advisor and contributor to the anti-Trump Lincoln Project during the 2020 election.
Yakub’s involvement has raised concerns about her neutrality during a recent debate between Republican Sen. J.D. Vance and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Brennan fact-checked Vance multiple times, contradicting CBS’ pledge against such actions.
Critics have accused her of bias, claiming she interrupted Vance more than Walz and posed more confrontational questions to Vance on issues like immigration.
“We have a historic immigration crisis because Kamala Harris said she wanted to undo all of Donald Trump’s border policies,” Vance argued during the debate.
“That has opened the floodgates,” Vance pressed.
Yakub’s prior donations and association with the Lincoln Project have fueled speculation regarding Brennan’s objectivity in her moderating.
