President Joe Biden recently stirred up debate after donning a “Trump 2024” cap. The move was widely condemned, with some critics questioning whether he was trying to sabotage Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign against former President Donald Trump.
“I’m not going that far,” Biden joked before ultimately putting the hat on.
“I’m in constant contact with her,” Biden recently said of Harris. “We’re singing from the same song sheet. She helped pass all the laws that are being employed now.”
“She was a major player in everything we’ve done, including passage of legislation, which we were told we could never pass,” Biden said. “Her staff is interlocked with mine in terms of all the things we’re doing.”
Critics noted that in recent weeks, Biden has made several moves that appear to overshadow Harris.
Biden recently scheduled press briefings directly conflicting with Harris’ events, and publicly praised Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, despite Harris’ criticisms.
“My Administration is ready to support both leaders and the people of Florida with any further resources they may need,” Biden wrote, adding that DeSantis was “cooperative” and “doing a great job.”
Some have viewed Biden’s actions as attempts to strengthen his position and legacy ahead of the upcoming election.
“I’ll give you a little secret. He hates her,” Trump said of the relationship between Biden and Harris. “He can’t stand her. He got 14 million votes. They threw him out. She got zero votes.”
