Donald Trump’s choice to take a shift at a McDonald’s drive-through in Pennsylvania has sparked outrage among Democrats. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was especially bothered by the stunt, who claimed Trump was mocking workers.
“I could do this all day,” Trump said while cooking fries. “I love McDonald’s, I love jobs, I love to see good jobs.”
She also criticized Elon Musk for giving away large sums of money to ordinary Americans, suggesting such acts trivialize serious political issues.
“Donald Trump putting on a little McDonald’s costume because he thinks that’s what people do. They’re not trying to empathize with us. They are making fun of us,” AOC said.
“Elon Musk thinks that dangling money in front of a working person is a cute thing to do when the election of our lives is before us,” AOC added.
Ocasio-Cortez’s fury comes as Trump’s recent campaign success has instigated panic among Democrats. Supporters of the former President were quick to express their approval of the stunt.
“Love him or hate him, I just feel it’s really cool to see this moment in history,” local resident Caitlin Hanlon said. “It’s a really cool moment, but I obviously support him.”
“Wow, thank you, Mr. President,” another customer said. “You made it possible for ordinary people like us to meet you.”
