Archaeologists in Jerusalem have uncovered remains that may provide evidence supporting a Biblical account of a battle.

The discovery is an ancient military base dating back roughly 2,600 years that is believed to be the site of King Sennacherib’s camp during his siege of Jerusalem.

Drawings from Sennacherib’s palace depict a military base layout matching the excavated ruins, which include a perimeter wall and pottery shards.

The site’s analysis indicates it was abandoned after Sennacherib’s invasion, correlating with three Biblical scriptures that tell of God defeating the Assyrian forces outside Jerusalem’s walls.

The findings provide physical clues that may confirm the military campaign and divine intervention described in the Bible’s historical narrative.
