Former Vice President Mike Pence announced that he won’t endorse former President Donald Trump for the 2024 election due to policy differences, citing Trump’s departure from conservative values on issues like debt reduction and the sanctity of life.
Pence emphasized a focus on a mainstream conservative agenda.
“It should come as no surprise that I will not be endorsing Donald Trump this year. I’m incredibly proud of the record of our administration. It was a conservative record that made America more prosperous, more secure, and saw conservatives appointed to our courts in a more peaceful world,” Pence said.
“What I’m going to spend the rest of this year on is talking about what we should be for. And that is the broad mainstream conservative agenda that’s defined our party and always made America strong and prosperous and free,” he said.
He launched a $10 million campaign to extend Trump-era tax cuts, aiming to influence tax policy decisions post-2025.
“Washington has a spending problem, not a revenue problem,” Pence said.
“We have too much debt for our country to handle, and raising taxes on people is not the answer.”
The campaign seeks to maintain tax policies implemented during Trump’s presidency and is supported by former Sen. Pat Toomey.
The efforts come amidst discussions on tax policy adjustments and potential ramifications on taxation post-2025.
